MidWeek Tunes: Ultimate Relationship

In my quest to learn more about myself, taking a break from those things that "distract", I was drawn back again to one of my fav songs by Mary J Blige....People think this song is about "sexual love" but it isnt. It is about the relationship with God that forms in the quiet hour of the morning..the way God soothes you and consoles you...and embraces you in a love that is greater than ourselves.
"Be still and know..that I am God." Psalm 46:10




All God wants is for us to commune with him/her.  When God touches us with it's finger tip of love....we ought to be Grateful. No man.. No woman. No Car. No amount of Cash....can touch you the way God can.

Right now I think about my absence of "intimacy" that has been sweetly replaced by the rapture of the Holy Ghost....

That is ecstasy indeed :)

    Touching upon spirituality of this post ...

    I've always been taken aback by the scripture which speaks on those pure at heart being blessed enough to one day see God.

    Imagine that for a moment.

Frat Boys, Toxic Masculinity and the #METOO Movement

(scene from Spike Lee's famous School Daze) A few weeks ago, my sorority held its national convention on New Orleans. Coincidently, another fraternity was also holding their national convention in New Orleans. Naturally, the jokes, mostly in jest, played upon the fact that these two groups, full of single, attractive and smart folks would be "on the prowl" and looking to "hook up" in the city known for its strong drinks, Southern heat, and hospitality. It was all jokes until nastiness decided to rear its ugly head. You had men in the other fraternity sexually harassing and being obscene to my sorority sisters who just wanted to have fun and handle the business of the sorority (and network.. and yes.. meet men in a somewhat safe space).  There were stories of men groping women.
